“However the city may really be, beneath this thick coating of signs, whatever it may contain or conceal you leave Tamara without having discovered it.”
- Italo Calvino
conceptual project developed through a ten-week course
Following the reading of Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, the idea behind the chapter of Tamara is used to explore the use of a prosthesis to extend bodily gestures. Through the use of vignettes, ideas for concealment become conceptualized. A prosthetic is developed to amplify a movement that conveys the sense of concealment and distraction. As the movement progresses, so does the adaption of the prosthetic.
